The Little House

Well actually it’s not so little. The house was originally the residence of the mine manager at Paxton Collieries, south of Cessnock. In the 1970’s the house was transported and re-positioned on its current site. Just over 10 years ago it was renovated and extended to include a large sandstone lounge, second bathroom and gourmet kitchen. The house is occasionally available to book for groups and functions by arrangement.

Studio

The Little House of Red’s “Studio” apartment brings you closer to the terroir of this amazing valley – in fact, sleeping within this cosy rammed earth building, with walls made from the local sandy clay soils,  it feels like you’ve truly become one with the land. The thick walls are incredibly solid and insulate very effectively from heat, noise and of course the worries of the outside world. Neat, serene and unique, the studio offers an ideal base for a weekend of either adventure or relaxation in the Hunter Valley.
